Presented by Justice North's disaster legal aid team: Claire Hardi, Kayla Niedzielski, and Jude Schmit.
Disasters typically impact many areas of life and create barriers to safety, stability, andsecurity. During this presentation, you will hear about the various legal aid topics thatcommonly arise during the period of recovery from large- and small-scale disasters,community crises, and emergency events. Attendees will learn about the disaster legal aidtimeline and the different types of relief aid available to disaster survivors.
This CLE will offer a practical and accessible overview of the disaster recovery process inMinnesota, with a focus on equipping pro bono and legal aid attorneys with the knowledgeand tools they need to advocate effectively for their clients. The presenters will also brieflyhighlight ethical considerations attorneys may encounter when providing disaster-relatedlegal services.
